Shodoshima Island drenched by glittering sun and refreshing wind. Angel Road is a suitable spot for such a happy atmosphere. The sand bank that links the four islands of Bentenjima Island, Shoyoshima Island, Nakayoshima Island and Oyoshima Island are located off the southwest coast of Shodoshima Island, where a sandy road appears twice daily at low tide. This area is a tourist site, with visitors given access to just the front part of Oyoshima Island (which is not open to public as it is a privately-owned land).
It is said that wishes come true when traveled hand in hand with that important person, which led to its popularity among couples wishing for happiness. Helped by the romantic name of the “Angel Road”, this has also become a spot for match making.
The Angel Road Park is adjacent to the site, featuring tourist information office that doubles as a store, as well as toilets and parking lot. Benches designed after wings of angels, letter posts designed after angels to produce romantic scenes. This is an ideal site to be called the “Sanctuary for Lovers”
