Hotel Overview

Situated in Minami Boso, Chiba, known for its warm weather and resorts, KAMENOI HOTEL KAMOGAWA is a seaside resort hotel that offers natural hot springs and views of the Pacific Ocean. The popular Kamogawa Sea World is right in front of the hotel, making it the perfect location for sightseeing. It is also just a short walk to the ocean. Selected as one of the 100 Best Beaches in Japan, Maebara Beach and the Yokosuka Coastline feature palm trees for a tropical mood.

The spacious, open courtyard provides the perfect resort atmosphere for relaxing under the blue sky on clear days and romantic moods by firelight at night. The hotel offers a variety of guest rooms such as relaxing Japanese-style rooms, functional Western-style rooms, and mixed Japanese and Western style rooms with a modern Japanese flair. Enjoy two different elegant bathing areas at the hotel. Tenku no Yu is a scenic bath on the 7th floor with grand views of the Pacific Ocean from the outdoor baths, and Matsukaze no Yu on the 1st floor is a large garden bath with an outdoor bathing area surrounded by a pine forest.

The area around Kamogawa is teeming with fantastic sightseeing spots. Oyama Senmaida Rice Terrace is a famous sightseeing spot with tranquil countryside scenery about 30 minutes away by car. This 3.2 hectare area of land is home to 375 large and small stepped rice paddies on steep slopes, and was selected as one of the 100 Best Terraced Rice Paddies in Japan. About 15 minutes away by car you’ll find the pier for the ferry to Niemon Island, a destination measuring four kilometers in circumference located about 50 meters off the Futomi Coast. Board a two-oared rowing ferry to visit this famous Chiba spot where you can swim and play on the beach. Yoro Ravine, where abundant natural scenery can still be found, is about 60 minutes away by car. Awamata Waterfall is a highlight of the area and an iconic spot in Boso. Another popular sightseeing spot that the whole family can enjoy is Mother Farm, located about 50 minutes away by car. There are plenty of attractions, such as interacting with many different animals, and flower gardens with beautiful, seasonal flowering plants. This is the perfect hotel for a trip to Kamogawa and all it has to offer.

Hotel Reviews

I like this hotel and in fact I like this particular chain of hotels. Once owned by Japan Post Office and for use by its employees, it's now privately owned. The hotels seem to be in good locations, reasonably priced. This one is across the road to Kamogawa Sea World and at night we could hear a sea lion calling out! The rooms are clean, simple and a good size. Breakfast and dinner are both nice even though it's buffet style. You definitely won't go hungry! Overall the hotel is pretty good, the food is nice, the rooms are quite a good size, the hot spring baths are great and it's our second visit.
