KAMENOI HOTEL KANONJI is a hot spring hotel situated atop a small hill overlooking the calm Seto Inland Sea boasting rich natural hot springs Hagami Hot Spring, which is known for being gentle to the skin and keeping you warm, flows from nearly 1,200 meters underground. One area of note among them is the Zenigata Sunae, a massive sand painting 345 meters in around that depicts an Edo period copper coin. It is said that people who see it live long lives, and never lack money. Kotohira-gu Shrine, which is famous for its long, 785-step staircase, is about 30 minutes away by car. This shrine has been affectionately known as “Konpira-san” since the Edo period, and continues to attract devout worshippers to this day.
If you want to enjoy nature, head to Sanuki Manno Park to enjoy seasonal flowers, or to Mt. Shiudeyama, a famous spot for its cherry blossoms overlooking the mountains of Shikoku and the Seto Inland Sea. Both spots are within 40 minutes by car. About 25 minutes away by car you’ll find Chichibugahama Beach, famous for reflecting the surrounding scenery like a mirror in the tide creates pools at low tide. About 20 minutes away by car you’ll find Mt. Unpenji Ropeway Sanroku Station, where you can travel to the summit of Mt. Unpenji to enjoy a dynamic natural view. Shikoku Aquarium, which features mysterious displays based on the theme of the aquatic environment of Shikoku, is about 50 minutes away by car.
