Hotel Overview

Easily accessible from central Tokyo, KAMENOI HOTEL KUJUKURI is a resort hotel overlooking Kujukuri Beach, one of the largest coastlines in Japan. All rooms have balconies with an ocean view. A variety of rooms are available so that you can lie back, relax and enjoy the ocean breeze. Here you’ll find a variety of large public baths with different kinds of tubs, including the scenic baths with outdoor bathing on the 10th floor overlooking the grand Pacific Ocean, and the whirlpool baths, beautification baths, and outdoor baths on the 1st floor. Relax and enjoy a blissful moment away from it all in natural hot springs.

Asahi is known for its relatively warm climate year round, making it a comfortable destination. Visitors to the area can enjoy plenty of scenic spots such as Byobugaura Bay known as the “Dover of Asia” thanks to it line of sheer cliffs along the coast, and Iioka-Gyobu Cape Observation Hall Light and Wind, certified as home to one of 100 Best Sunsets in Japan, 100 Best Sunrises in Japan, and as a Night View Heritage of Japan. The area is also home to Iioka Fishing Port, an excellent fishing ground where the Oyashio Current and Kuroshio Current meet, and where visitors can go boat fishing. Fish caught here are used in Maruboshi Sardines, a processed seafood product and specialty of Asahi, which produces more of the sardines than anywhere else in Japan.

Make sure to venture a bit further for some sightseeing in the Choshi area. Choshi Fishing Port, which boasts some of the largest catches of fish in the country, is about 40 minutes away by car. The observation deck of Choshi Port Tower, which stands in the uplands facing the bay, offers panoramic views of the Choshi townscape and the vast Pacific Ocean. Nearby you’ll find Wosse 21, a market that offers fresh seafood sold on the spot, making it a great location for a meal and shopping. About 10 minutes by car from Choshi Port Tower you’ll find Cape Inubosaki, the easternmost point in Kanto and a famous sightseeing spot known for being the first place you can see the sunrise in Japan excluding mountain summits and some remote islands. From the promenade around the lighthouse you can see rough waves up close as they break and splash against the reef. There are also offshore spots in Choshi where you can see wild dolphins and whales swimming year round. This is the perfect hotel for a trip to enjoy the best of the ocean’s bounty.
